Delivery Manager / Consultant (Implementations) - Field and Home based: Windows, SQL etc.
To 44K (32-38K + 5400 Car allowance + Bens)
Suitable for candidates living in the South East including Surrey, Berkshire, Wiltshire, Middlesex, Herts, Essex, Oxfordshire, Cambridgeshire. May also consider a Midlands based candidate close to on the M1, or M40 and of course M25 Corridor.

Leading public sector focused software and information solutions company, requires experienced Technical Delivery Manager to take up a customer facing and field based role working on implementations, consultancy, and customisation of systems to meet specific customer needs.

You can be based anywhere in South Mainland UK to do this role, and will spend approximately 50% of the time home based and 50% on the road. Connectivity to the main UK motorway network is preferred.

Required skills and experience:
Previous commercial experience delivering technical solutions and/or consultancy services to systems customers from a vendor perspective
Installation and configuration of MS SQL Server and/or Oracle (11g) databases
Good SQL Querying skills - writing select statements etc.
Good general administration skills with Microsoft Operating systems including 2003/2008 Serve
Excellent technical troubleshooting abilities
Experience of managing small projects, acting as main point of contact for customers, and managing risk and resources to ensure successful and timely completion
Ability to prioritise personal workload effectively and manage the delivery of tasks to time and budget Ability to work effectively from home, at a customer site or in a client office, unsupervised
Excellent communication skills - ability to listen, understand and present clear solutions to problems at a level appropriate to the customer's knowledge and experience, in writing, in person and over the phone
Flexibility - able to respond to challenging demands and take on additional responsibilities as required
Ability to follow detailed instruction and interpret for given different environments

Desirable:
Specification of hardware environments
SQL Server or Oracle installation and configuration
An understanding of web technologies such as Apache and IIS
Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems
Knowledge of network architectures
Any relevant Microsoft or Oracle accreditation

The Role:
Assess, plan and organise the delivery of allocated work packages to meet agreed time, quality and financial budgets
Install, configure and customise software including ancillary products onto customer environments
Provide consultancy services to clients as part of project implementations and on-going development of the use of the company's software
Take ownership of assigned tasks as agreed and see them through to successful completion
Liaise closely with customers to ensure the company's software and services are implemented and used as effectively as possible
Familiarise customers with the software to demonstrate successful delivery and aid testing and acceptance
Liaise with Product Management and other areas of the business as required to request software enhancements and assure quality
Proactive assessment of areas for business process improvement within domain knowledge. i.e. suggesting areas for increasing efficiency and quality of services etc.
